STATUS OF VIRUS IN CLASSIFICATION : Viruses are ultramicroscopic creatures that are the borderline of living and non-living. They are acellular they are not made of cells and do not have organelles. a virus consist of nucleic acid (DNA or RNA) surrounded by a protein coat. They cannot run metabolism. For the synthesis of their protein and to increase in number, viruses become parasite in organism (plants, animal, and bacteria). Viruses are not included in the classification system because they lack any of the characteristic of the three domains of life.
Two common viruses-Left; A bacteriophage (Virus which attack bacteria) and Right; Influenza virus.
