If we don't end the war, the war will end us!

Today, when I read this quote, it doesn't feel like a political statement or any simple everyday quote. To me, and many other ordinary citizens, it feels like a desperate plea for survival. When big nations and their leaders declare wars, they sit in safe rooms. But it is the common people like you and me who pay the price.

War doesn't just destroy cities and their infrastructure; it destroys futures and hope. Think about a normal family. They work hard, send their kids to school, and dream of a peaceful life. Suddenly, a war starts, and everything vanishes. Mothers lose their children, children lose their parents, and homes turn into dust. The emotional trauma stays for generations. Even if the bombs stop falling, the psychological scars never really heal. Moreover, in today’s world, we are all connected. A war in one corner of the world creates an LPG shortage, hikes up fuel prices, destroys economies, and causes food shortages even thousands of miles away. All of us are already fighting huge global monsters like climate change, poverty, and diseases. Instead of spending billions on healthcare, education, and saving our planet, countries are increasingly engaged in weaponising themselves. Being strong enough to defend oneself is one thing, but using those weapons and wiping innocent people out makes no sense.

If we do not put a stop to this madness, there will be no world left to fight for. This is a bitter truth. We cannot live every moment under the shadow of the fear of destruction. As ordinary citizens, we seek neither power nor anyone else's territory; we simply want a safe world for our children. This is the crucial moment for the world to prioritize love, dialogue, and peace over arrogance and weaponry. If we do not end war today, there might be no one left tomorrow to tell the tale.
