GLINT IN SPLINTERLAND.. What the use ?

​I recently just came back to my Splinterlands account after two years... I loved Splinterland battles and winner great rewards that are totally free. Ive come to realize after unbounding about 100 dollars worth of cards that winning glint really isnt a prize at all, when infact you win the glint to purchase the cards that u cant do anything with but battle with. To truly own the card out right you have to purchase them with your DEC or credits. So ur really not getting anything but the privilege to purchase cards with your won glint and to then purchase them again with your crypto or credits to actually own them ... You can do the same thing by just purchasing the card from market place without having to win a battle ...So whats the since in glint can someone convince me.
