Visited Alpaca Farm Today

Today was a busy but really good and full of fun day! Today our daughter celebrated her thirteenth birthday with two of her best friends.

This wasn't really the day of her birthday, her birthday was a few weeks ago and we celebrated it in a family circle with her grandma and uncle and his fiance.

These days it is really difficult to line up her best friends schedules, kids are very busy with various commitments and so it took us some time to find a day when all three girls were available.

There was some serious preparation for this event, most of which was done by my wife, though me and my daughter helped as well.

This morning I have gone to Nothing Bundt Cakes to pick up Bundtinis that my wife has ordered ahead of time. Then I cleaned up our balcony including wiping all the metal rails to make them look nice and more importantly to get rid of the spider webs.

Then I put up birthday decorations on the balcony rails. We also put up a couple balloons though they popped after a couple hours, so that didn't work out how we expected.

I was also the primary balloon inflator, even though my daughter helped inflate a few of them as well. I vacuumed and ordered pizzas for the girls and went to pick those up.

Our daughter was also an active participant as she set up the table and came up with all the decorations and thing for everyone to do.

Everything was Alpaca themed, the table cover, the napkins, the plates and even balloons had Alpaca on them. The reason for that is because our daughter really loves alpacas.

So the main event of today was a visit to the Alpaca farm. After the girls ate and had their dessert we loaded everyone up into our SUV and drove to Enchanted Farms which is about forty minutes away from us.

There we had a farm tour first, which started with us feeding the bunnies, then feeding goats, sheep and donkeys and then finally feeding the alpacas, which I must admit was the most fun.

Instead of walking in like we did with bunnies and other animals, Esther, the farm tour guide had us line the perimeter of an enclosed area and she gave us little buckets with Alpaca feed and then let out the alpacas.

The alpacas came rushing in and were eating off of my hand and sometimes two at a time. At first the girls were intimidated by the Alpaca enthusiasm, but they quickly gotten used to it and had lots of fun.

But the main event was still ahead of us. All three girls got to walk three male alpacas at the same time. It was the funnest experience and Esther did a great job teaching the how to walk and control the Alpacas.

The girls had a total blast and on the way back they were very excited and the car was full of happy sounds from them.

But we were not quite done yet, we stopped by a frozen yogurt shop and everyone had picked their favorite flavors and toppings. It was a perfect finish to the day full of happiness and excitement.
