Demolition Time
Today at the dive shop we were cracking on with the demolition of areas now deemed to be in the coastal easement zone. As we will be reopening in 4 days it's been a bit of a juggling act trying to compartmentalise the demolition so as not to cause a huge mess.
The rinse tanks fell victim to the sledgehammer today. As we tear it down the rubble is bagged up and taken away. Some of the staff are using it with construction and filler on projects in their own house extensions they are doing so nothing is being wasted.
Theres plenty more where that came from too.
We wil be keeping the signage as it was carved by and is excellent and could be used in any dive shop really. It's nice woodwork.
Even the natural roofing material is carted off to be reused elsewhere. It's actually quite refreshing to see almost everything we are tearing down being taken away and put to use elsewhere. Recycling at its best.
And of course taken away on the vehicle eminently fit for transporting roofing material errr a motorcycle. Can't beat the health and safety here. I am always amazed at how much and what people are able to carry here on two wheels. It's quite remarkable. I think 6 is the most people ( including a baby) I have ever seen on one bike here.
Hopefully tomorrow we will have this all cleared up and move on to the next piece of our demolition puzzle. It really will transform the dive centre thats for certain.
Until tomorrow. Beer time now.
