This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including thier subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.
Last time, I have talked about the soulbound card rewards which we can get from our daily and season rewards and how they are used to formed new strategies across the game. This time, I will have a more in-depth review for the recently new added abilities to the game with the arrival of soulbound rewards and I would start with the Weapons Training ability which allows non- damage cards such as Baakjira or Lord Arianthusto gain attack when they are next to cards that have this ability.

Adjacent monsters gain half of the attack of the monster with this ability if the adjacent monsters have no attack themselves.
Weapons Training will give adjacent monsters with not attack damage half of Zyriel attack.
Life Leech increases the health of Zyriel every time if inflicts damage to the opponent.
Divine Shield makes Zyriel immune to the first attack that hits it.
Rust reduces the armor of all opponent monsters.

Range attacks may be used in the first position in battles.
This battle with 27 mana cap comes with Explosive Weaponry, Silenced Summoner and Close Range rule set so I used Scavo Chemist to reduce the range if my opponent will use range monsters while also reducing their speed but because I have Ferexian Hero next to it, it was able to gain 2 melee damage and was able to attack the opponent.
For the 2nd battle, we have a 49 mana cap match with Broken Arrows rule set so the only monster that can deal damage were either melee or magic monsters so what I did was placed Baakjira as my main tank since it has huge health and has Void to reduce magic damage although it can't attack. But with Kulu Mastermind next to it, it gains 2 damage with Weapons Training and was able to inflict damage to Legionnaire Alvar.
Summoner do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.
For this battle, there is a 53 mana cap with Earthquake, Unprotected and Silenced Summoner and because of this, summoner abilities cannot be used and non- flying monsters will received damage so I have most of my monster with Flying ability but Wil-o-Wisp and Riftwing does not have damage but both were able to use magic attacks with the help of Skok Duskblight's Weapons training ability.
Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs.
With this battle, we do have a 50 mana battle with Evens Stevens and Unprotected for the rule set so only monsters with even mana can be used and what I do was to focus on magic while also placing Pelacor Conjurer for my tank as it got the Magic Reflect ability which reflects damage to the attacker and was also extremely fast so hitting it with melee and range attacks will be difficult, The only downside for this card is that it has no attack but with the help of Aves Sturgis, it has gained 1 magic damage and was able to hit Drybone Raider with it.
All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners.
On this last battle, the mana cap has been set at 41 mana and with Target Practice and Healed Out rule set. I have used a combination of anti-magic, anti-range lineup but my Onyx Sentinel and Scavo Hireling does not have attack but with the help of Bearix Snakeye and Ava the Undaunted, both of them has earned 2 range damage but one thing I have learned was that Weapons Training does not stack up if it got the same attack type as Scavo Hireling should have earned 4 range as it was between 2 monsters with Weapon's Training ability.
Final Thoughts
The Weapons Training ability has indeed change how Non- damage monsters have been used and gives them more utility now more than ever. While some non-damage cards such as Pelacor Conjurer and Lord Arianthus can deal indirect damage they can now deal direct damage with the help of this ability as it was used at the right time. For now, I can say that the most used card on my collection was Kulu Mastermind but I will expect that I will have more use to the rest when I reached max level of them. The promo card, Zyriel, was also promising with it capable of being used on either Life or Death and even Dragon and stuck up multiple attack type but since it was range, it will also have the same problem with Bearix Snakeye so I hope it was just a bug and will be fixed.
