Earning Ecency Points

Ecency Points is a way of the Ecency platform to reward its users for using any of their blogging frontends to publish content, curate, reblog, and simply remain online on Ecency.

Listed below in detail are the possible ways to earn Ecency Points. They do not involve getting gifted by other Ecency users or awarded on giveaways.

Ecency Points can be redeemed for Perks, gifted to other Ecency users, or traded manually with other Ecency users in exchange for other Hive tokens.

Commenting rewards

Publishing comments using the Ecency platform awards Ecency Points to the author.

• Only the first 16 comments on a given day (UTC) provide Ecency Points, where the first comment gives 5 Points and every subsequent comment gives 0.333 less Points until the 16th comment which gives only 0.005 Points.
• A maximum of about 40 Ecency Points can be accumulated using this method per day.
• Editing comments does not give Ecency Points.

Posting rewards

Publishing posts using the Ecency platform awards Ecency Points to the author.

• Only the first 4 posts on a given day (UTC) provide Ecency Points, where the first post gives 15 Points and every subsequent post gives 3.75 less Points until the 4th post which gives only 3.75 Points.
• A maximum of 37.5 Ecency Points can be accumulated using this method per day.
• Editing posts does not give Ecency Points.

Voting rewards

Votes (both upvotes and downvotes) cast using the Ecency platform gives Ecency Points to the curator.

• Only the first 20 votes per day (UTC) provide Ecency Points, where the first vote gives a maximum of 1 Point and every subsequent vote gets 0.05 less maximum Points until the 20th vote which gives a maximum of only 0.05 Ecency Points.
• The Ecency Points awarded gets multiplied by the Voting Percentage of the vote. For example, if the user's third vote for the day is 50%, then the Points awarded for such vote is 0.45 (0.9 Points multiplied by 50% or 0.5). Therefore, to maximize Ecency Points earnings, it is recommended to perform high votes on Ecency and low votes on other Hive frontends.
• A maximum of 10.5 Ecency Points can be accumulated using this method per day.

Other rewards

• Delegation reward. - This is a daily reward of Ecency Points corresponding to 10% of the Hive Power delegated to the official Ecency Hive account. For example, if 350 Hive Power is delegated to the Ecency account, then the Ecency user gets 35 Ecency Points per day.
• Login bonus. - This is a one-time award of 10 Ecency Points for using the Ecency platform for the first time per Hive account.
• Usage bonus. - This is a daily award of 10 Ecency Points for using the Ecency platform for the first time per day.
• Heartbeat bonus. - This is an award of 0.25 Ecency Points for staying online on the Ecency platform every 15 minutes. This is equivalent to a maximum of 1 Point per hour or 24 Points per 24 hours.
• Reblogs. - This is a maximum of 1 Ecency Point awarded for every reblog on a given day.
• Referral reward. - This is a reward for successfully recruiting new Hive accounts to the Ecency platform.
• Community reward. - This is a reward for Ecency users who help the Ecency platform. This includes translators or guest curators.
