Why rain?
The rain poured down relentlessly, each drop a tiny hammer against the darkened streets. Amelia stood at the corner, her clothes drenched and hair plastered to her face. She looked around, hoping for a glimpse of familiarity in the desolate cityscape, but found none. Her umbrella had long been discarded, useless against the fury of the storm.
She felt a shiver run through her, not just from the cold but from the growing sense of helplessness. The city, usually so vibrant and full of life, now seemed like a labyrinth of shadows and uncertainty. The streetlights flickered, casting eerie reflections on the puddles that had formed on the pavement. Every step she took seemed to echo in the empty night, a reminder of her solitude.
