My Job And I Will Last

Will Your Job Exist In Ten Years?

It all depends largely on the nature of the work. Yes, technology and Artificial Intelligence, are advancing. Keeping people worried that technology may replace their work. While some are afraid to be out of work. But there are many professions that I believe that technology can not keep them out of their jobs.

I am a very industrious woman, and I currently have one job and two businesses. Guess what? I believe all three of them will last for as long as I live.

My first job is part time teaching. Teaching is a career that never ends. It has been in existence since the beginning of human civilization, and it will continue to exist because every generation needs people to pass on knowledge and values. As a teacher, I will continue teaching until I retire. Even after that, I can still teach through mentoring, guiding, and sharing my experiences with others. No matter how old I become, there will be need for me to continue to teach and impact lives

My first business is my drinks business. I have been in this business for over Ten years, and I am still waxing strong. People will always need refreshments, and businesses like this thrive on human interaction and customer relationships. While AI can help with record-keeping, marketing, and inventory management, it cannot replace the in-person relationship that builds friendship and trust, which are vital in serving customers. AI cannot stand in my shop and sell drinks the way I do.

The second business I am involved in is the shortlet apartment business. People will always need comfortable and secure places to stay, whether for vacations, business trips, family visits, or temporary accommodation. Technology can help with bookings and management, it cannot replace the physical property itself or the hospitality that comes with providing a pleasant experience for guests. As long as people travel and need accommodation, the demand for shortlet apartments will continue to exist. This is another reason why I am confident that my source of livelihood will remain relevant even beyond Ten years time.

I am not worried about whether my jobs will exist in ten years. Technology will continue to improve and AI will certainly change the way many people work. But, I strongly believe that careers built on human connection, practical skills, and essential services will continue to remain relevant. To counteract the effect of AI on my business, I will continue to stay adaptable, keep learning, and make the most of the opportunities that comes with change.
