The termites took down it's mother

This morning went in vein - we had to rescue whatever is left. The maid suspected some termites are there, after seeing soil like thing on the floor and called me. I tried to knock the place and it sounded hollow. So I lifted a part of the plywood to see what's inside and what came up inside was scary.

See them inside ? They did not spare anything and ate out all. So I had to call my elder brother for the rescue operation. We took the mirror out and then removed the entire peace below.

And then had to bring the medicine (poison) and syringe - there is a big one for this purpose only. Usually, my brother does termite treatment in the timber factory regularly, little did he know, they will target the house.

Given that they have surfaced at one place, it's likely that, they will try to invade the entire area. So as a precaution, he applied the medicine at every corner.

These set ups were done almost a decade back - back then there were not much options. May be we need to explore better options now to replace these before they damage other valuable items. Surprisingly I see termites taking down all the interiors in my apartment as well. Recently someone who was staying in the 4th floor had left his door locked for 2-3 months and when they came back, nothing was left. They lost all their valuable items that even included their certificates. He had to run from pillar to post to get duplicates issued from concerned departments. It's so much of task.

Someone else also shared similar views - they did a full termite treatment - the guys charged them more than 20k - digging holes at every place in the house and then putting some medicines. 2-3 years down the line, its all in vein. I wonder, how the termites go up in the apartment. May be through the gap in bricks ? But its all plastered and the base is in concrete pillars. Quite frustrating loosing interiors worth lakhs and then the valuable items - the wife was crying like anything because they ate out their most memorable thing - the bridal collections and all the photo albums - they do not even have a digital back up.

It hurts to see the orphan draw...but at least it gave us the alarm.
