The same reason I stopped playing Steemhop was exactly the same reason I stopped playing Blood Strike. My network connection was simply too unstable to enjoy the game. In Blood Strike, if your internet connection drops even for a few seconds, the game doesn't wait for you to reconnect. Instead, it kicks you straight out of the match. It became so frustrating because most of the time it happened right in the middle of intense gunfights. Sometimes my bullets wouldn't register at all, while other times I would suddenly disconnect just as I was about to eliminate an opponent. After experiencing that over and over again, I completely lost the motivation to keep playing.
Although my Airtel ODU still isn't the best option for gaming, it's definitely an improvement over using a regular SIM card connection. The stability is better, even if it isn't perfect. Since I finally have a better connection now, I decided to log into the game after such a long break. To my surprise, I discovered that I was only a short time away from missing out on a free Legendary weapon that had just been released. It also reminded me of all the free rewards and limited time events I had already missed while I was away from the game.
One thing I enjoy most in Blood Strike is collecting weapon skins, especially the Ultra tier ones. There are only three pistols in the game, and I already own Ultra skins for two of them the Desert Eagle and the Glock. I've wanted an Ultra Glock skin for a very long time, so finally getting one felt amazing. Before this, I had been saving special event tokens that can be earned by completing daily and seasonal tasks. Those tokens can be exchanged in a shop filled with free Ultra skins, and my original plan was to spend them on the Ultra Glock. Since I now own a different Ultra Glock skin, I can save those tokens for another weapon instead, making my collection even bigger.
It didn't take long for me to realize how rusty I had become. Since I hadn't played for such a long time, my aim and movement felt awkward during my first two matches. I was missing shots that I normally wouldn't miss, and my reactions weren't as sharp as they used to be. Strangely enough, everything changed the moment I turned on my screen recorder. I suddenly became more focused because I knew that whatever happened next would be what people watching the video would remember. That extra pressure somehow brought my confidence back, and little by little my old skills started returning.
After playing several Hot Zone matches, winning some and losing others since it wasn't a ranked mode, I finally felt comfortable enough to switch over to Battle Royale. This wasn't the regular Battle Royale mode either it was the special Blood Strike × One Punch Man collaboration mode. I only played one match, but it was an interesting experience.
I managed to finish in 9th place with 9 eliminations, which I think was a decent performance considering I had no idea how the collaboration mechanics worked. Every player has access to a special superpower, but I still don't know how to unlock or activate it. The most confusing part is that once someone starts using those powers, shooting them with normal weapons seems completely useless. Your bullets pass through as if you're shooting at a hologram, yet they can still damage and eliminate you. From what I observed, the only effective way to fight someone using a superpower is to activate your own abilities and battle them on equal terms. Since I hadn't figured that out yet, my run eventually came to an end when I encountered a player using their powers.
Even though I didn't win the match, I was still happy with my performance. Considering how long I'd been away from the game, getting 9 kills and gradually regaining my confidence felt like a good comeback. There's still a lot for me to relearn, especially the mechanics of the collaboration mode, but I'm looking forward to playing more matches and getting back to my best.
That's all for my Blood Strike session today. Later tonight, I'll be jumping into Call of Duty Mobile to continue the grind there.
