Block'tivity > Coinmarketcap? Steem > Bitcoin?

Coinmarketcap.com shows us all the values of individual coins and tokens but is that really what we want to see as Blockchain technology moves forward? As large corporations and the general public begin to to show interest in Blockchain technology will the values of individual coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple really mean much at all? Steem currently has the fastest Blockchain available, in fact the Steem Blockchain makes up for over 40% of all transactions (24hr basis) yet it only has a 0.4% market cap when compared to BTC, ETH and BTS. As Steem, as a coin and blockchain, continues to grow will it be in with a chance to compete with the Big, $10 billion+ market cap, coins? So many questions that we will hopefully find the answer to in 2018.!
