Food Trip with my Family.png

Hello everyone, Hivers of this community. As we went to our Hometown, last Saturday, my brother cooked one of my favorite foods which is pork “sisig” and cheese stick for our snack.

Food was always present every time we had some simple family gatherings. It’s been a long time since we visited my hometown and I requested my brother to cooked my favorite food and snack.

First, we had a simple food trip when we visit my father’s tomb. We bought some barbeques at Fat Ern’s Grill Barbeque which are chicken intestines, pork skin, chicken egg and one day-old. We just often have barbeques like this because it’s not really good if we eat it every day. We just eat barbeques in moderation. The perfect sauce for this was a vinegar with onions. We ate these barbeques at my father’s tomb. It’s like having a picnic together with my late father even if he was not with us.

We also had some coconut juice to quench our thirst. My second born really enjoyed this simple food trip that we had.

Pork “sisig” was one of my favorite foods, it was fried first then chopped into tiny pcs. with a lot of onions and my brother also add mayonnaise, pepper, vinegar and salt for a better taste.

I was the one who chopped the onions, this white onion was really big, like a size of an apple. Haha.

Meanwhile, my youngest brother volunteered to prepare cheese stick which is one of my favorite snacks. It was also easy to prepare. You will only be needing some lumpia wrapper, any brand of cheese cut into strips. Then wrapping it and deep fry.

For the sauce, I mix ketchup and mayonnaise which really compliments the taste of the cheese sticks.

Then we had a simple food for our lunch together with my siblings.

For our dinner that day, I’m really craving for a grilled fish, since the only available fish that was grilled that day was “hito” or catfish, we bought one and it really taste good especially when you dip it in a soy sauce.

I’m very full that day, and I thank God for giving us blessings every day, for the food that I shared together with my family.

That’s all for today my dear hivers of this community. Till’ next blog. Have a wonderful day 😊

Sincerely, saijan19@saijan19
