I challenged a latte but.. EN/JP

Hello! Today, I challenged myself to make a latte, but it didn’t quite turn out as I had hoped (haha). Still, it was a satisfying way to enjoy a peaceful morning with my wife.

To create a good foam, I heard that milk with a higher fat content is better, so I chose fresh, full-fat “Farm Fresh” milk instead of low-fat. Its smooth flavor pairs perfectly with coffee. I usually use Japanese milk, but since it wasn’t available at the store, I decided to try something different this time.

The second photo shows the milk-steaming process. Ideally, I would have used a pitcher with a spout for better control, but this time, I had to use my favorite yellow mug instead. During the process, the milk seemed to boil over, and the foam, heated to an extremely high temperature, started flying out. I stopped it immediately, but I may have made a mistake in handling the steamer.

For the latte art in the left cup, I tried to create a heart shape, but I ran out of milk while pouring, leaving it looking more like a cloud. While I usually just pour milk directly into my coffee, frothing the milk gave it a heavier and richer texture. It was a nice change, and I realized that making lattes can be enjoyable once in a while.

I’ll definitely try latte art again and take the opportunity to learn and practice more next time.
But I might forget if I wait until next weekend, so I’ll probably try again tomorrow!

こんにちは！今回はちょっとしたチャレンジでラテを作ってみましたが、なかなか上手くいきませんでした（笑）。それでも、妻と一緒に楽しむ朝のひとときとして、しっかり満足できる仕上がりでした。

泡がしっかり立つように、脂肪分が多いほうが良いと聞き、低脂肪ではない「Farm Fresh」の新鮮な牛乳を選びました。滑らかな味わいで、コーヒーとの相性が抜群です。いつもは日本の牛乳ですが、スーパーに売っていなかったので別のものを買いました。

牛乳をスチームしている様子です。本当は注ぎ口がついたピッチャーを使いたかったのですが、今回は仕方なくお気に入りのイエローマグを使用しました。途中で沸騰してしまったのか、泡が非常に高温な状態で飛んできて咄嗟に止めましたが、使い方に問題があったのかもしれません。

左側のカップでラテアートを試しましたが、ハートを作ろうとしたところで注ぐ牛乳が無くなってしまい、雲のような形になりました。
普段は牛乳をそのまま注いでいるのですが、泡立てることで少し重厚感がある飲み心地となっていて、たまにはラテもよいなと思いました。ラテアートにもリベンジするため、またやり方を学習して試してみようと思います。
ただ来週末だと忘れてしまいそうなので、明日再挑戦かな～
