She was colourful on that day, Red and pink, on her ghagra, shoes and face.

I saw fire when she moved and shook those sexy waist beads.
As I am African heritage, I couldn't stop my heartbeat to the rhythm of the beads.

How could I approach her? I was in a strange land, It was a festival,Holi, Diwali, or Navratri? I think it was Dandiya Raas.
My head hurts, so I placed my hand.

I walked up to her, said hello; she smiled, and offered me a tour.

We talked till sunset, walked in the moonlit night.
I wish she'd cherish those moments as I do.

I will return to India, to see her again.
I hope she'll be happy to see me, for I left without a goodbye.

I can't wait for this year's festival, I know she'll be there.
