Some toxic beauty ingredients to avoid

The biggest and the best tip to prevent skin diseases are to avoid harmful skin chemicals. Although it is hard to completely avoid all the chemicals that harm us, we can educate ourselves so that we can limit them to the maximum. If you look at food labels carefully to check for the unhealthy ingredients, you should also look at the cosmetic ingredients given in the label at the back. There are many products which include chemicals which are irritants, endocrine disrupters, and even cancer-causing substances. It is not possible to point out every single substance which is close to the category but we have brought a list of ten harmful substances which will help you prevent skin diseases.

Parabens

You must have seen some products which state paraben free on the logo. Well, that’s one big reason to buy them because it has estrogen mimicking properties which can increase your chances of breast cancer. Believe it or not but according to a wellness expert, these substances have been recovered in the biopsies of breast cancer. Although they stop the growth of bacteria but at a huge price!

Synthetic colors

If you take a look at your product label and notice FD&C or D&C, they represent artificial colors. F --representing food and D&C representing drug and cosmetics. It is important to note that these colors come from petroleum and coal tar sources which can be a cause of many skin problems. It is also known to be a carcinogen which means that it can be cancer causing. Avoiding it is important if you want to prevent important skin diseases or problems of other kinds too.

Fragrance

This is sometimes a smart way of hiding those chemicals which companies don’t want to mention explicitly. According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG) Skin Deep Database, this can be a cause of many health problems for the skin like the dermatitis so one important tip here is that don’t buy an product without knowing about its ingredients and if you can’t pronounce a word it is usually not a very good substance for your tender skin.
