Work Immersion Diary - Day 8 (Memories to Keep)

Greetings, beloved Hivers! It's @rufajane back with another memory to share. Hope you guys love this one 😄.

So I came a little late today because of my menstrual cramps. Although I wasn’t feeling my best physically, I still chose to go to school and fulfill my responsibilities for the day. At first, it was difficult to focus because the discomfort made me feel tired and distracted. However, I reminded myself that being present and committed to my tasks was still important. After settling in and preparing myself for the day, I tried my best to stay positive despite the situation.

Later in the morning, I had the chance to dance with the Grade 7 students for a remembrance presentation. Even though I was not feeling well earlier, that moment somehow helped distract me from the discomfort. Dancing with them created a light and enjoyable atmosphere, and it allowed me to forget the pain for a while. Seeing the students participate and enjoy the activity also made the experience more meaningful for me.

As the day continued, I observed the students’ behavior as usual. I paid attention to how they interacted with each other, how they responded to their teachers, and how they behaved during different activities. Observing them has always been part of my daily routine during immersion because it helps me understand students better and see how classroom dynamics work in real situations.

However, the environment felt noticeably different today. Most of the student teachers were absent because they were attending a whole-day college conference in Cebu. Because of that, the school felt quieter than usual, and honestly, the day seemed a bit boring compared to the other days when everyone was present. The usual energy and interaction among the student teachers were missing, which made the atmosphere feel less lively.

Despite that, the day still felt meaningful because it was the awarding of honors at Argawanon Integrated School. Seeing the students receive recognition for their hard work and dedication was truly inspiring. It reminded me that all the effort they put into their studies eventually leads to something rewarding. Witnessing their happiness and pride as they were acknowledged for their achievements made the event special.

Even though I started the day feeling unwell and a little late, the experience still ended on a positive note. The activities, observations, and the awarding ceremony reminded me that every day during immersion offers a new lesson. Sometimes, even on days when we do not feel our best, meaningful moments can still happen and leave us with valuable reflections.
