Taksim was the place I stayed in a nice Hostel for about a week.
The first thing I had to do, was walking in Taksim down the main road and enjoy Istanbul. This street is the feeling of Istanbul and Fatih is the feeling of old Istanbul or Constantinople. As far as I feel it.
This was my 3rd time in Istanbul, the first time I stayed in Fatih. Fatih I like a lot more with Sofia and Blue Mosques. It feels like a old historical place with all the markets, yes it is old Constantinople of the byzantine empire.
Taksim is more the shopping and touristic area in my mind. The modern place with the charm of the gate to the orient.
