Recent Happenings in Life

Life is busy! I try to block off time to stay active on Steemit, but life is simply chaotic. Summer is winding down here in Minnesota. I literally saw a tree who's leaves had already begun to turn orange and yellow (tell tale sign fall is fast approaching). So what did I accomplish this summer? Did I make the most of the few short months of "nice" weather we have here? Below is a collection photos encapsulating my summer. Enjoy!

We lost a dear friend to a stoke at the young age of 37. Nick was one of my best friend Andy's older brother, but I had known him most of my life. It's one of those weird things in life that a tragedy brings people together. This is a picture of many high school friends gathering for a grill out and celebrating Nick's short time on this Earth.

Baseball is America's past time. It was my favorite sport growing up and I was happy my son wanted to play. I didn't know it until it happened but I was roped into being one of the coaches. Teaching 4-5 year olds the game of baseball was not the easiest but we had a ton of fun. At the end of the day that is what T-ball is all about so mission accomplished!

Outdoor concerts are always a hit. Especially when the weather cooperates. I almost never miss an OAR show when they come to town and this summer would be no different. My wife was able to join me this year after missing last summers show. We also got to share the night with two other great couples. If you have not heard OAR I suggest you youtube some of their music. They are fantastic!

Our annual Gangestadfest happened as it has the past 8 years. Here I am tossing more wood on the big bonfire in the backyard. We had three bands this year, tons of food/drink, and plenty of yard games for all to enjoy. We partied until 3 in the morning and the weather was hot but no rain!

I was able to visit my youngest brother, Andrew, in North Carolina. He is stationed at Cherry Point in the Marines. My two step-brothers and I rented a beach house in Atlantic Beach for a long weekend. It was great to catch up and just relax by the ocean for a few days.

To cap off the summer my wife and I are heading to Denver this weekend to celebrate my birthday over the Labor Day holiday. I have two buddies from college that live there so we will stay with them and act like tourist for a couple days. If you have any recommendations please comment below on cant miss things!
