Trying the latest Rapid on Demand service

My youngest daughter urgently needed a new pair of eyeglasses as she had misplaced and couldn't find her current ones. Normally, we drive over to Bukit Bintang to our go-to spot for making new eyeglasses. But last weekend was a little different. My wife had other plans in Sepang and needed the car, so I had to figure out another way.

Luckily, Bukit Bintang is well-connected by public transport. I had a few options, which were either by MRT or LRT. However, I still have to figure out how to go to the MRT or LRT station from my house. It was then I remembered reading about the new Rapid On-Demand service launched by Prasarana in June 2025. I hadn’t tried it before, but today felt like the perfect opportunity.

I searched for the Rapid-on-Demand app on Google Play, installed it, and was amazed by it. The interface was clean, simple, and very intuitive. Nothing overwhelming at all. After updating my profile, I quickly set up a ride to pick up near my house and drop off at the Kwasa Sentral MRT station.

The moment I hit Book Ride, a driver was immediately assigned to me. To my surprise, he was only 7 minutes away. Since the pickup point was close by, we waited at home until the waiting time got down to just 2 minutes. Then we headed out to the pickup point

At the pickup point, a red van was already waiting at the spot. The was only MYR 3 for the three of us. That’s incredibly affordable, especially if compared to a Grab ride. The short trip to the MRT station took only 10 minutes.

We were dropped off just a few steps from the MRT entrance. From there, it was a smooth ride straight to Bukit Bintang.
