Namibia also raised reservations about using Sputnik V this time.
Namibia, like neighboring South Africa, has discontinued use of the Russian Sputnik V-Kavid-19 vaccine. This was announced by their health ministry on Saturday. South Africa stated earlier this week that it may 'raise the risk of HIV infection' among men. They will not authorize Sputnik V due of this fear. Namibia's health ministry stated in a statement that its usage had been halted after a decision by South Africa until the World Health Organization "listed it for emergency use." "This is being done with prudence," the ministry stated. People who have taken the Sputnik V vaccination may be at an increased risk of contracting HIV.
