An Ode to Electric Forest

Electric Forest is the time of your life
It takes you away from your day to day pain and strife
You enter into a land so magical and pure
And at that moment, you know you’re sure
That you’ve come to the right place
For love is in abundance in this sacred shared space

The people you meet you know are truly happy to see you
Those little interactions with them makes you forget you were ever so blue
The magic of the Forest fills you with true happiness and love
And you know that everyone you meet is a true gift from up above
With lessons to teach you that you didn’t realize you needed
As in your mind healthier thoughts are being seeded

Leading you on a journey of acceptance and self-discovery
Until finally you can’t help but feel truly and completely free
To be your true and unadulterated self
Instead of placing that persona on a shelf
For now there’s no need to hide away in shame or fear
Because you know without a doubt that you truly are safe and accepted here

Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect are fully embodied through those four days
And seeing it in action can lead you to change your own ways
To remember what’s important, that we are all connected
And nourish those connections that we have for so long neglected
For in the Forest we create our own world filled with love and compassion
And live in a society in which those things are in fashion

But all of it means nothing if we don’t continue to do our part
And share the spirit of the Forest with others long after we depart
For it is up to us to create the world we wish to live in
Instead of simply accepting that people like us can never win
Against the tides of society’s hatefully disconnected status quo
So into the outside world must our love and acceptance overflow

Remember what you learned in the Forest this year
And keep your love and acceptance kicked into high gear
Share that love with everyone you meet and greet
Trying to remember that there’s no need to try to compete
Because my success is your success and your success is mine
And as long as we work together all our stars will align.
