Y finalmente llegó el agua/And finally, the water arrived 🚰💧

Hello chicos, qué tal todo? Por aquí finalmente después de dos meses ha llegado el agua y por supuesto ha sido una locura en casa, ya que aunque en uno de los tanques quedaba un poco de agua, teníamos cerca de dos semanas sin agua dentro de casa, ya que lo que quedaba era muy poco como para poder llenar el tanque que nos surte arriba, por lo que nos tocó estar subiendo agua constantemente con tobos y por supuesto ahorrandola lo más posible, por lo que las limpiezas profundas estaban completamente suspendidas, así que se imaginarán cómo estaba todo en casa... necesitando una limpieza urgentemente.

Hey guys, how’s everything? The water finally came back here after two months, and of course it’s been crazy at home. Even though there was a little water left in one of the tanks, we went about two weeks without water inside the house because what was left wasn’t nearly enough to fill the tank that supplies us upstairs, so we had to constantly carry water up in buckets and, of course, conserve as much as possible. That meant deep cleaning was completely off the table, so you can imagine what everything was like at home… it was in desperate need of a good cleaning.

Una de las áreas que dentro de todo siempre mantuve lo más limpia posible fue la cocina, sobre todo los platos, fregadero y mesón, pero la nevera, los gabinetes y la cocina como tal no habían recibido un cariñito por lo que apenas los tanques comenzaron a cargar agua me di a la tarea de iniciar con la limpieza de la cocina, y en vista de que los ciclos del agua cada vez son más largos decidí hacer una limpieza bien completa comenzando por la nevera, la que fui desocupando y limpiando por partes con una solución de lavaplatos y vinagre.

Aproveché de sacar todos los envases que vamos dejando dentro y que no deberían estar ahí y reorganicé todo dentro de la nevera y no solo quedó con olorcito a limpio, sino muy organizado, y ya que había comenzado decidí no parar y vaciar todos los gabinetes tanto para limpiar y organizar todo, como para deshacerme de cuanto perolito había ocupando espacio de forma innecesaria.

One of the areas I always kept as clean as possible was the kitchen—especially the dishes, sink, and countertop—but the refrigerator, cabinets, and the kitchen itself hadn’t received much attention, so as soon as the tanks began to fill with water, I set about cleaning the kitchen, and since the water cycles are getting longer and longer, I decided to do a thorough cleaning, starting with the fridge, which I emptied and cleaned section by section with a solution of dish soap and vinegar.

I took the opportunity to remove all the containers we tend to leave inside that shouldn’t be there, and I reorganized everything inside the refrigerator. Not only did it end up smelling fresh, but it was also very organized. And since I had already started, I decided not to stop and emptied all the cabinets—both to clean and organize everything and to get rid of all the little pots and pans that were taking up unnecessary space.

Armada con esponja, desengrasante, desinfectante y lavaplatos fui limpiando todos los gabinetes por dentro y por fuera, y por supuesto organizando todo nuevamente, y en ese proceso decidí cambiar algunas cositas en la cocina, pues hace rato que todo estaba en el mismo lugar y ya era hora de darle un pequeño cambio.

La verdad es que quedé muy satisfecha con el resultado, aunque todavía me falta dedicarme a limpiar el suelo, cosa que haré mañana, pero por dicha ya la mayor parte está hecha, así que seguimos en la limpiadera*.

Armed with a sponge, degreaser, disinfectant, and dish soap, I cleaned all the cabinets inside and out—and, of course, reorganized everything—and in the process, I decided to change a few things in the kitchen, since everything had been in the same place for a while and it was time for a little change.

The truth is, I was really happy with the result, although I still need to clean the floor—which I’ll do tomorrow—but luckily most of it is already done, so we’re still on a cleaning roll*.

Aún falta limpiar los otros espacios de la casa, y lavar una montaña de ropa, pero por lo menos ya la cocina y el baño están al 90% porque todavía me falta el piso para quedar al 100%, pero sí se puede, sí se puede ...

I still have to clean the other rooms in the house and do a mountain of laundry, but at least the kitchen and bathroom are 90% done—I still need to clean the floor to get them 100% done—but yes, we can, yes, we can...
