Obedience to God means hearing His commands, accepting them, and living them out. It is more than knowing or quoting the Scriptures; it is practically living the scripture daily in our lives.

When one is born again, we must obey the commandments of Christ, we must submit to His will. A real Christian life must conform to the doctrines of our Lord Jesus Christ, in belief and in action. Obedience also includes proper conduct, and serving God with sincerity, even when no one is watching.

Jesus Himself said in John 14:15;

If you love me, keep my commandments."

Christ is our role model and He always obeyed God. In John 6:38; He says;

I came not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent me”

God values our obedience because it demonstrates our love for Him, strengthens our faith, and shapes our character. It opens the way to divine blessing, guidance, and sanctification. A life of obedience fosters order, unity, and spiritual growth. On the other hand, disobedience leads to regret, consequences, and separation from God’s favor.

Though obedience can be challenging because of our personal desires conflicting with God's will, still, every act of surrender brings every believer closer to God’s heart.

Obedience, therefore, is not a burden but the path to true discipleship and blessing.

Obedience is total surrender to the will of God which is for our own profiting, because without Him we can do nothing.
