A Personal Note Today : Corona Austria
I previously have commented that Corona was getting close to Austria. Austria was apparently one of the first EU countries to close its borders.
I work at an Austrian Autobahn Raststätte (motorway services). With the response to Corona growing in Austria, the Restaurant is DEAD... Very few customers.
The company just made the announcement today that the entire chain of services across Austria will now temporarily close down, foreseeably for the next few months.
Luckily in Austria there is a good safety net (AU Mindesicherung / "min insurance", UK "benefits").
We will be eligible for approx 80% of our previous paycheck ea month.
So... Corona has come directly into my life, and the life of all Austrians, and probably all EU residents soon!
