Después de tanto esfuerzo combatiendo a los enemigos y manteniendo el Planeta a salvo, es necesario tomar un pequeño descanso para recargar las baterías.

El Capitán llevó a Ylia a conocer los alrededores. La base se encuentra oculta en un lugar que tiene una hermosa vista tanto en el área de la playa como en los bosques cercanos. Aprovecharon de detenerse un rato a disfrutar de la tranquilidad del paisaje, porque… ¡nunca se sabe cuándo el enemigo atacará y tendrán oportunidad de disfrutar algo de tranquilidad y paz nuevamente!

Aproveché la ilustración de hoy para hacer un estudio rápido de uno de los escenarios. Me encantan las escenografías de ese anime. Todos los fondos son tan hermosos ¡y todos hechos en acuarelas! Al fondo, está el faro donde se encuentra oculta la base de operaciones.

Utilicé brochas de acuarela para darle el mismo aspecto y aunque fue una práctica muy rápida y sin mucha atención a los detalles, no quedó tan mal después de todo.

Para que no hubiera un contraste muy fuerte entre el fondo y los personajes, hice el lineart con una brocha de lápiz que da muy bonitos trazos sin necesidad de aplicar mucha presión. Algo que me gusta de la animación old school es que en los acercamientos se puede apreciar la textura de los lápices en las líneas. Tal vez no les daba mucha nitidez a algunas escenas con demasiados detalles, pero le daba un toque artístico a la imagen que me encanta.

Quise mantener la estética de sus ropas. Como este es un anime de finales de los 70´s, la vestimenta civil estaba muy influenciada por la moda de la época, no así los uniformes de trabajo. Tal vez más adelante pruebe cómo se verían con algo más actual.

Day off for the crew!

After so much effort fighting enemies and keeping the Planet safe, it is necessary to take a little break to recharge the batteries.

The Captain took Ylia to explore the surroundings. The base is hidden in a place that has a beautiful view both in the beach area and in the nearby forests. They took the opportunity to stop for a while and enjoy the tranquility of the landscape because... you never know when the enemy will attack and they will have the chance to enjoy some peace and quiet again!

I took advantage of today's illustration to do a quick study of one of the scenarios. I love the settings of that anime. All the backgrounds are so beautiful, and they are all made in watercolors! In the background is the lighthouse where the operations base is hidden.

I used watercolor brushes to give it the same look, and although it was a very quick practice without much attention to detail, it turned out not so bad after all.

To avoid a strong contrast between the background and the characters, I did the lineart with a pencil brush that creates very nice strokes without needing to apply much pressure. One thing I like about old school animation is that in close-ups, you can appreciate the texture of the pencils in the lines. It may not have given much sharpness to some scenes with too many details, but it added an artistic touch to the image that I love.

I wanted to maintain the aesthetic of their clothing. Since this is an anime from the late 70s, the civilian clothing was heavily influenced by the fashion of the time, unlike the work uniforms. Maybe later I will try how they would look with something more current.
