How did we get here?
Hello fellow hivers
Am back again with a question for us all to bear in mind as it affects us collectively and individually.
Wherever we find ourselves can be related to the results of our decisions made even in past times and present times.
The decisions we make can either Mar us or Make us.
We are faced with several decisions to make daily either on the cloth to wear, the food to eat, the route to take to work, the time to do an activity, time to hit the gym 🤔, or even the decision to help a fellow and so on.
The decision you make in a split second can affect your entire life and even the life of someone standing next to you.
Take for instance you are driving and you come in contact with the traffic light which is on red 🚦 and you decide to ignore it.
Hmmmm 😏, this can lead to an accident which may result in loss of lives.
People make decisions based on three conditions:
Certainty: This happens when humans tend to have enough information on the subject matter and so are in the right state of mind to take decisions even when the consequences are well spelt out
Risk: This happens when humans have information that are not total that is the the human does not know everything about the decision
Uncertainty: Decisions are made even when the probability of the outcome is not known and Risk may be quite high.
There are factors that affect our daily decisions and we will take them one after the other and be realistic about them.
🙂 Personal Perception: A person may have a belief about something which will affect his decision making because he may not want to go against his beliefs as he feels there may be consequences.
😉Environmental factor: This factor is very very key as the environment we belong tends to shape our lives which can result in decision making either rightly or wrongly.
🤷🏻 Ignorance; The lack of knowledge about a thing or subject matter can make someone take the wrong decisions.
An example is a person who smokes cigarette and feels it is not bad, he may not know the side effects so leading him to take the wrong decision.
😨 Fear: This is another major factor that affects people as they tend to fear both the unknown and known.
Someone may be afraid to take new step as he does not have information on the subject matter.
An example is the start of a business, a person may be scared to start a business as he does not know if it will make profit or loss.
🥺 Experience: some people may have tried doing something or heard about another person's experience which may affect their decision making.
A woman who has given birth to several children and finds out she is pregnant will take a different decision from a woman is just pregnant for the first time.
All these factors stated are just a few to mention.
We must be mindful of our decisions daily as we don't want the lives of others to be negatively affected.
Our decisions shape who we become as what has happened in the past is in the past but we can make the right decisions today to prevent a sorrowful tomorrow.
