Diy kinky twist
Hi everyone and my fellow DIY lovers! Today, I’d love to show you a hairstyle I made for my sister. Making this hair was quite challenging. I had already made something similar before, so I thought it would be easy. However, since I’m not a professional hairstylist, I forgot how I made it. So I had to watch lots of YouTube tutorials and did lots of trial and error until I found a better way to make it.
This hairstyle is a short kinky twist, and it looks great on 4c hair. It took me about 10 hours, though I'm sure a professional hairstylist could do it faster. I also had to manage the extension because it wasn’t enough, which took my time as well. I was almost done twisting with the middle section of the head when I realized the remaining extension wouldn't be enough for the whole head. So I had to lose most of the hair and reduce the initial extensions I used to make it.
Material used:
1 pack of kinky hair extensions
Crochet hook
Combs
Process
I started by dividing the hair into sections
Then, I parted the pre-sectioned hair, starting from the back.
These were the first two twists I did before I watched a few YouTube tutorials then I decided to use the crochet method.
I began by braiding the hair for about half an inch long.
Then I inserted the crochet hook at the bottom of the hair.
I put the extension in the hook and gently pulled it so that the extension was properly inserted through the hair.
I braided the hair with the extension for about half an inch long, then I started twisting.
I plaited the hair according to what I pre-sectioned.
After I was done, I trimmed the ends
This is the final result. I hope you like it
