In the history mankind around the world has many days to remember. International mother language day is one of the memorable days. Every independent nation of the day in memory of the language martyrs and speaks in parise of the mother tongue. February of every year in regarded as the international mother language day.

Shaheed Day

On 21 February 1952 during the time of Pakistan rule some valiant sons of our country laid down their lives for our mother tongue Bangla. Since then the day had been observed as our Shaheed Day. Later the UNO declaved the day as the international mother language day.

Probhat Fery

21 February is now observed all over the world as a red letter day. In our country it is observed as a national mourning day. The national flag is hoisted half Mas to mark the day. People of all classes bring out a procession called Probhat Fery. Everybody in the possession walks bare footed and sing the song Amar Bhai rokte Ranga no ekushe February Ami Ki bhulite Pari. flowers and wreaths are placed at the foot of the Shahid Minar to pay homage Tamil key to the martyrs. Discussion seminars and cultural shows are organised throughout the country. I want newspaper bring out special features. The TV and radio put up special programs highlighting the significance of the day.

Our Struggle

This day is of great significance. we have achieved Bangla as our mother tongue. the language movement give us the spirit of liberation and we became independent in 1971. Today we are free and Bangla is an important language.
