FDA Settles Ivermectin Lawsuit
Back when COVID first started sweeping the world stage, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) stepped into the debate and suggested that people should not take Ivermectin as a treatment. This would be fine if the FDA were doctors. They are not. If anything, their job is to offer guidance concerning treatments--not to suggest treatments. Otherwise, governmental power and medicine are too close to one another.
From the article:
The FDA in the settlement is also agreeing to delete multiple social media posts that came out strongly against ivermectin, including one that stated: “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”
In exchange, doctors who sued the agency are dismissing their claims, the filing states.
The finding of the court is simply this:
“FDA can inform, but it has identified no authority allowing it to recommend consumers ‘stop’ taking medicine,” U.S. Circuit Judge Don Willett, appointed under President Trump, wrote for the court. The appeals court remanded the case back to the district court.
Which establishes that the FDA violated the delicate balance of power. This is good news as it begins to re-establish what should not have been violated with which to start--patient freedom to choose treatment.
