Got Married!
Recently I didn't have time to post any articles here. There was a reason for that. Today I am going to share the reason with you.
Finally, Harith and I knotted the tie after a relationship of six years on 26th April! Our wedding reception happened at Hotel Sundream according to Sinhale traditions. The function occurred with the participation of about 250 friends and relations of both parties.
When it comes to the day before the wedding all the things were ready. Two of my best friends since 2008 Roshini and Paramee were my bridesmaids. Dilshan and Harith's brother joined as best men.
My bridesmaids and I had a sleepless night dressing for the day. They made so many sacrifices that day because I became almost nonfunctional after doing my long nails :)
It was 6 am when we were done with our dressings. We came to the photo location for 2h photo session. Harith was already there with the best men. I still remember how his first look when he saw me in the bridal dress.
At 8.20 am both of us went to the hotel. Our parents waited there until we come.
We had two separate welcome sessions with traditional drummers and dancers. Once the welcome session is finished, the poruwa ceremony which also belongs to the traditional Sinhalese wedding process started at 9.00 am.
Then we shared rings at the Poruwa and also worshiped our parents. There were some other activities like lighting the oil lamp and "Sashrika Table" that happened after the Poruwa event.
Then we had a 45min family photo session and then a table visit.
Many of my friends also visited the wedding. Sandupi , Anusha, Saman aiya, Damindu, Sanduni, Ruwan Aiya , Damith Sasanka and Janakee were also there.
As well as our parents, my brother Ashen99 and Harith's brother and sister and her husband did a great job at our wedding reception to make the event a success. Also, my girl's gang too.
The fun hours were the time after lunch. I will share how it went with my next article.
