Good-Bye Saigon

Hi guys :) It's been almost a month since I made my last post. I have been very busy over the past few weeks because I have made the decision to leave Vietnam and the process of leaving was not that simple as it uses to be.

There are many reasons for us deciding to leave Ho Chi Minh City. First of all, after living abroad for about two years, no matter how much we enjoyed our lives, we still had this feeling that we want to live close to our family and friends. Due to the pandemic not able to go visit our family made us miss them, even more, and more, every day.

If there was no pandemic, I think we would have stayed in Vietnam for another a year or so. But we decided to leave early because the Covid situation in Vietnam is only starting to deteriorate recently. Shortly before we left, Ho Chi Minh City was on lockdown and all taxis and service apps like Uber were banned, and restaurants were still opened but delivery or take out only available. Now, all restaurants and food delivery services have been banned, you can't go out of your house unless it's essential. Unlike some countries, exercise, walk your dogs, etc, is not an essential reason so a lot of people are caught by the police and are being fined. Sadly, the situation is getting worse day by day.

I really didn't want to leave Vietnam like this, and it's really sad to say goodbye this early. I hope the situation gets better soon and people can go outside freely. Good-bye Saigon, Good-bye Vietnam!
