North Korea bases its calendar on Kim Il-Sung's date of birth: 15 April 1912.
Now, the year is 106, not 2018
North Korea holds election for every five years but hands out ballots with only one option
Therefore, the leader is pre-known before the election.
There are traffic lights but they won't work.
North Korea has three generation punishment rule.
If one person violates a law or is sent to prison camp, it affects their whole family.
Grandparents, parents, and children of the violator are sent to work with them.
There is a fake "Propaganda" city near the South Korea Border
You might have noticed the same if you have watched "The Interview" movie.
North Korea has only three TV channels.
Most of the shows would be praising their leader.
There are only a few approved hairstyles.
Students have to pay for chairs, desks and heating fuel.
North Korea uses human feces as fertilizers.
More than 50% of the population lives below the poverty line.
But the government doesn't agree on the fact.
