A school in the mountain.

Early in the morning there's so much peace in this mountain's paths.
A place away from the city, deep within the mountain where no water, nor electric grid reaches. Where there's a river carrying fresh, crystal clear spring water all across; and people grow and farm most of what they eat.
They live peaceful simple lives in family, working and sharing...

But soon it's 8:00 in the morning, and the deep quietness is broken by the cheering voice of children that approach like an avalanche down the road as they come to school.
They live uphill; some near, some a few miles away, but you still can see their houses in the distance. They have to wake up early to be at school on time and after a long walk down and up the gravel roads of this nature; all green, trees and grass, morning dew, mountains all around far as the horizon... they arrive.

Today for the first time I'll join them in their classroom as a guest teacher, and I will teach'em how to make pizza! 😍🍕🍕they've heard about it, but they've never tried one, so they're very excited!😃❗❗... but first they show me around their beloved school, where they study and share social activities every week day. They have a lovely orchard they really want me to see, where they plant beans, pumpkins, tomatoes and cassava, and they take good care of the plants each morning. There's a kitchen full of harvested food where they prepare the daily school meal for everyone.

So there we go making our pizza! 🤔 I think I'll teach'em the basics...: the dough, the tomato sauce, the proper pizza toppings... 😃👍

They pay really good attention and show enthusiasm, and after a brief theoretical explanation on the whiteboard, we put hands on the dough.

They really love the activity and every kid wants to participate. First we gather around the table, then we go to the big bench where every kid gets to shred tomatoes👌😌🍅

We all agree that placing the toppings is the funniest part, maybe thanks to the delicious smell of the hot tomato sauce poured on the pizza dough🍅🧀🍕😜

It looks delicious and everyone already wanna try these pizzas!!

Today also, is the birthday of one of the students and we're having chocolate cake, so there's extra reason to celebrate😃🤗❗❗❗

Happy birthday Gabriela Fernanda! You are a great student, very good classmate and a natural leader. You always show enthusiasm about learning and reading and you are very creative🖑high five🖑☺

It has almost being the perfect school day so far, after having our own pizza and cake, we conclude the school session with this week's sports class... Now it is the perfect school day❗❗❗😎😉

Of course we play a match of Dodge ball... it's the local sport😉🏐🏃💪👍

The students say goodbye and then return home; again, a march that will take some of them nearly 20 minutes, and others a little more than an hour... a regular school day for the kids, but i will never forget it. I just have shared this morning and afternoon with them, but they already call me teacher and they make sure I understand that I'm welcome.
