Alone time in Nature
It’s been a busy few weeks and I’ve not been well and the kids haven’t been well either! It’s been tough.
So today my husband encouraged (forced) me to get outside. It was just what I needed (he knows me very well).
I decided to take my rarely used sketchbook and watercolours and head out to the river near our house.
The fresh air and warm sunshine was already improving my mood and I hadn’t got to the tree line yet!
Once in the wood, I spotted birds and a squirrel! The squirrel posed for a photo but a little too far away for my phone camera!
I kept walking to find a spot to sit where I could sketch a flower or something of interest. I found the spot near the river where there is a small waterfall. There were brambles covered in ladybirds next to a stone wall I could sit at. Perfect.
By the time I set off home, I was feeling better and had painted two little pictures.
I’m not sure if the ladybird but I’m happy with the leaves.
Does anyone else get out in nature when they are feeling down? What else do you do?
