Three Tune Tuesday #149 .:. Made in USSR

Hi there, my friends. ⌛️ This week my #ttt post promotes some vintage soviet music made back in USSR in 70-es, mostly unofficial. Different names (but the actual artists names are totally unimportant here). The songs probably will not click for those who do not understand Russian, but still I hope you will enjoy this piece of art - it was a labour of love.

Кола Бельды - Ханина Ранина

Kola Beldy is a representative of the Nivkhi ethnic group, and he does not sing in Russian - I myself have no idea what the song is about!. The song is actually called 'The Tale of the Sun-Tambourine', the video that you see was a fragment of the film «The City and the Song» (1968), in which ballet dancers from the Leningrad Music Hall took part. 👙 That is, these are completely different, independent works, which, as it turned out, fit each other perfectly. The resulting video clip delights with minimalism, choreography, retro-futurism - even today it looks very solid!

Кола Бельды - представитель этноса 'нивхи', поет не на русском языке - я сам понятия не имею, о чем песня! Называется она на самом деле 'Сказание о Солнце-бубне', а видеоряд который вы видите - фрагмент фильма «Город и песня» (1968), в котором приняли участие артисты балета Ленинградского мюзик-холла. То есть, это разные, самостоятельные произведения, которые оказалось офигенно подходят друг другу! Результат восхищает минимализмом, хореографией, ретро-футуризмом - даже сегодня выглядит на уровне.

(The song itself starts at the 40th second). It is recommended to pour 1 liter of vodka and cry from the memories of a bygone era. The song seems to be humorous, but the laughter is mixed with tears...

(Сама песня начинается с 40-й секунды). Рекомендуется налить 1 литр водки и плакать от воспоминаний ушедшей эпохи. Песня как бы юмористическая, но смех свозь слёзы...

Аркадий Северный - Разлуки, словно луки

This is a psychedelic song of great power. Key lyrics: «Tears in autumn faces. I am deprived of an unexpected smile given to somebody else, I am parting with a tram, with a crossroad, with a finished cigarette, and with a random shadow in someone else’s window... Nothing can be repeated; and what can be repeated - should not be».

This one is from underground. Recorded unofficially in 1978 by a great Russian bluesman Arkadii Severnii, it got no label release - the only circulation was unofficial compact-cassette copies. This is not original song, it has original lyrics but based on a more well-known precursor - Charlie Chaplin's 'Titina' (fron 'Modern Times' movie - 1936).

Еще один номер из подполья. Текст - стихотворение "Осенние разлуки" Винарского (как и многое другое, в те времена оно не публиковалось, писалось в стол и для себя - культура андеграунда в чистом виде). Получилась психоделическая песня огромной силы. Ключевые (для меня) строки: «Слеза в осенних лицах... Я разлучаюсь с нечаянной улыбкой подаренной не мне, с трамваем, с перекрестком, с погасшей папироской, и с тенью промелькнувшей в совсем чужом окне... Ничто не повторимо. А то что повторимо - не нужно повторять».

Записанный на подпольной домашней студии в 1978 году великим русским блюзменом Аркадием Северным, трек разумеется не выпускался ни на каких лейблах, а расходился в народе на самопальных кассетах. Музыкальная подкладка - аранжировка известной предшественницы, «Титины» Чарли Чаплина (из фильма «Новые времена», 1936).
