Noble Words : Too quick to be happy !
My parents always taught us to avoid shortcuts in life. It is similar to solving the maths problem, where every steps in the solution matters. Mere writing the answer does not do good for the academic. My Mom too belive that it is good to cook food slowly on the stove as it helps in better cooking that allows better taste.
In many cases, people are always focus on quick results than getting a fruitful outcome. When time is given to something, the end results always get important and valuable to us. To explain the simple explanation on this phenomenon Sanskrit give following proverb citing example of a beggar ;
अर्थिनः त्वरितदानेन तृप्तिर्भवति यादृशी |
बहुदानं विलंबेन न तादृक्तृप्तिकारकं ||
Arthinah tvaritadaanena truptirbhavati yaadrushee.
Bahudaanam vilmbena na taadruktruptikasarakam.
Arthinah = beggars.
Tvarita = quick, expedicious.
Daanena = alms given away as charity to poor people.
Truptirbahvati = truptih + bhavati.
Truptih = contentment, satisfaction.
Bhavati = happens, becomes.
Yaadrushee = like this.
Bahudaanam = substantial sums of money given as charity.
Vilambena = very late.
Na = not
Taadruktruptikaarakam = taadruk + truptikaaarakam,
Taadruk = like that.
Truptikaarakam = causing satisfaction.
i.e. Beggars get the satisfaction that they get from the donation they receive immediately when they ask for it, which they cannot get even from a large donation given to them after a delay.
Beggars may express satisfaction with quick charity because it directly fulfills their immediate need for money, which is essential for survival, such as buying food and shelter. While this provides short-term relief from pressing poverty, it does not offer long-term solutions. Quick charity, while a positive act, can reinforce a reliance on handouts, hindering efforts to find sustainable income and develop skills. The habbit can even be detrimental, as it may perpetuate a cycle of dependency rather than encourage self-sufficiency through skills training or education.
In many situations, rapid results are inherently more efficient and convenient, saving time and effort. But in longer run, such trick never going to be benefitted.
