Noble Words : Our values become our destiny.

Since our childhood, our parents always ask to have moral values in life. A person should have moral values to develop strong character, make ethical decisions, and build positive relationships. These values act as an internal compass to distinguish right from wrong, leading to better choices and fostering qualities like integrity, empathy, and responsibility. Having moral values promotes personal well-being, builds trust with others, and contributes to a more harmonious society. To elaborate on the importance of moral value, Sanskrit has following to says ;

अविद्यानाशिनी विद्या भावना भय नाशिनी |

दारिद्र्यनाशनं दानं शीलं दुर्गतिनाशनं||

Avidyanaashinee vidyaa bhavanaa bhaya naashini.
Daaridryanaashanam daanam sheelam durgatinaashanam

Avidyaa = ignorance.
Naashinee = remover, destroyer.
Vidya = knowledge, learning.
Bhavana = faith in a thing,
Bhaya = fear.
Daaridrya = poverty.
Daana = giving wealth as charity to the needy,
Sheela = ideal moral conduct.
Durgati = misfortune, distress.

i.e. Ignorance is destroyed by acquiring knowledge, and fear is dispelled by self-confidence. Poverty is eradicated by giving charity, and misfortune (troubles) are eliminated by virtue (virtuous character and good conduct).

Moral values help build strong character and self-esteem, giving a sense of purpose and integrity. It is crucial for personal development, helping individuals distinguish right from wrong, build strong character, and make sound decisions that contribute to their overall well-being and a positive sense of self. Moral values promote positive traits such as empathy, kindness, and discipline, leading to more courteous behavior and a positive outlook.

Moral values act as a preventive measure against self-inflicted troubles and provide the inner strength and social support needed to manage and overcome external difficulties. People often stray from their values, but those who maintain it always get success in life.
