Noble Words : The world is full of mean and selfish people !

There is a girl in my school, who seem to make friendship only for her own needs. Whenever she needs some notes or wanted to get her work done, she becomes very nice to other. Once the work were completed she completelly changed her attitude. I am really scared of people.of these character, as they know how to make use of other. My Dad always used to say that the people in todays time are very means and selfish. She is true example to go with my Dad saying. Our ancient Sanskrit roo has following verses for mean and selfish people :

कार्यार्थी भजते लोकम यावत्कार्य न सिध्यते |

उत्तीर्णे च परे पारे नौकायाम किं प्रयोजनं ||

Kaaryaarthi bhajate lokam yaawatkaarya na sidhyate
utteerney cha pare paare naukaayam kim prajoyanam

Kaarya + arthi = Kaaryarthi
Kaarya = work, job,
Arthi = desirous of.
Kaaryarthi = A person who has his work to be done by others.
Bhajate = feels obliged, appreciates.
Lokam = persons.
yaawat = until.
Kaarya = work, job.
Sidhyati = gets completed.
Utteerne = passing out, on completion of a job.
Pare = afterwards.
Paare = acrosss
Naukaa = boat.
Kim = what
Prayojanam = purpose.

i.e. A person, who has got his work to be done by others, remains obliged to such persons only until such time the work is not accomplished (and does not care for such persons afterwards). For what other purpose a person needs the boat when he has already crossed a river by using the boat ?

These mean and selfish people make other to feel like "use and throw" kind. Completelly avoiding these people is never easy. It require a smart approach to deal with people of these quality. Dealing with mean people involves a combination of self-awareness, boundary setting, and choosing our responses wisely. It's important to understand that we can't control their behavior, but we can control how we react.
