Noble Words : Dependence is misfortune !

Humans are social creatures who thrive for cooperation and mutual support. However, Relying excessively on others can be detrimental, hindering personal growth, self-sufficiency, and happiness. There are certain class of people who often find it easy to depend / rely on others. Dependence means you are at the mercy of others, losing control over your own life and outcomes. Over-reliance can diminish our ability to function autonomously, leading to dependence on others for basic needs and decisions. Citing the examples of life of certain people Sanskrit says ;

अर्थिको व्याधितो मूर्खः प्रवासी परसेवकः |

जीवन्तोSपि मृताः पञ्च पञ्चैते दुःखभागिनः ||

Arthiko vyaadhito moorkhh pravasee parasevakah .
Jeevantopi mrutaa panch panchaite duhkhabhaaginah.

Arthiko = a beggar.
Vyadhito = diseased.
Moorkhh = stupid, foolish.
Pravaasee = a person living in a foreign country.
Parasevaka = a person in the service of another person.
Jeevantopi = jeevanto + api
Jeevanto = alive.
Api = even.
Mrutaah = dead.
Pancha = five.
Panchaite = these five.
Duhkhabhaaginah = unhappy and facing hardships.

i.e. A beggar, a sick person, a fool, a person living abroad and a servant of someone else, these five persons are always unhappy and are like a dead person while alive.

A beggar, always depends on alms, a sick depends upon others support, and foolish unable to make use of own mind, a servant alwsys depend on his employee. Their life is restricted and completelly dependent on others.

It is to be noted that, when we depend on others, we miss opportunities to develop our own skills, make our own decisions, and learn from our experiences. Over-dependence can leave you vulnerable to manipulation and control by others, especially if they are aware of your dependency. True well-being and fulfillment come from developing our own inner strength and sense of self, not from depending on external sources. This implies that we should focus on being self-reliance.
