Bloatware
I think the argument about bloatware is absurd when you start off by citing a calculator app.
It doesn't take resources unless you're actively running it, and it's space consumption is negligible.
It literally doesn't fall under the category of bloatware. It's not bloatware to begin with. That's my point.
Bloatware is specifically software which loses benefit of functionality because it takes up too much space or resources to use.
A calculator app isn't anywhere near that.
I mean, literally besides being able to think of plenty of reasons why a calculator app is useful, it's simply not bloatware. It could be running 100% of the time in the background and I doubt it would make a functional difference to any end user host machine that has an end user desktop experience made in the past 25 years anyway. It doesn't, and it doesn't take up any meaningful space. Even Windows Home/Pro out of the box, fresh install, have bloatware. They fill your Start Menu up with sponsored apps e.g. the Office 365 subscription stub, various third-party apps. It's great to be able to have FULL control over a device I OWN. That means removing as much bloatware + adding privacy as best I can, knowing that google wont shove more crap & ads down my throat. That said, looking at getting a Pi now and developing on that vs hacking a retail box. Already submitted a return on my onn box as its confirmed to be basically junk at this point & not really hack-worthy.
