This is Pulkit back with another story from my Travel diary.
After I visited Himachal Pradesh, I decided to explore another neighborhood, which is Rajasthan. Rajasthan is a very big state full of Culture, Heritage, and a very rich History.
So I decided to go to Bharatpur which is approximately 180km from Delhi.

Bharatpur is famous for its Fort called Lohagarh Fort( Loha means Iron). The reason behind the name is that this Fort was Invincible. Many people tried to Invade but never succeeded, Including the Mughals, Afghans, and Britishers also.

Another Famous thing in Bharatpur is the **Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary **
How to Reach:
You can board a train from New Delhi to Bharatpur Junction and then Hire a taxi to explore the whole of Bharatpur.
You can Hire a taxi from Delhi to Bharatpur which is 175 km away.
Lohagarh Fort:
Bharatpur city was constructed around Lohagarh Fort or Iron Fort. The Jat ruler for Bharatpur Maharaja Surajmal ordered to Built of this Fort.

There are Ten Gates to Enter and leave the Fort
Amongst them, the North one is called Ashtdhatu(8 metalled) gate and the south one is called Chowburja(four Pillared).
The Fort is Surrounded by a Moat, which is 250 ft in width and 20 ft in depth. After digging a wall of 25 ft high and width 30 ft was constructed.
The Fort was attacked by Mughals, khilji, and Britishers several times, but no one succeeded.
There is a whole small city inside the Fort, having shops, a museum, and an Administrative headquarter. Is also inside the fort, houses, and temples.
Some Tourist attractions are the Kishori Mahal, Museum, where the artifacts of Rulers are conserved, the Statuse of Maharaja Surajmal, and Jawahar Burj, which was constructed by Raja Sawai Jawahar Singh after his victory over the Mughals.

There is a Pillar at Jawahar Burj named Vijay stamp (pillar of Victory) which is made up of Eight metals and have the lineage of Jat rulers.

Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
Bharatpur is also famous for its Bird sanctuary, which is also called Keoladeo National Park, which is spread over an area of 2873 hectares.
It is the home of many migratory birds, that arrive here in winter.
You can see more than 350 species of birds, pythons, dears, Wild bor, fix, tackle, 50 species of fishes, more than 10 species of snakes, more than 350 floral species, and many more.

You can walk through the Park, and also hire Rickshaw but the best way to explore is by Renting a Bicycle.
For a better experience, Hire a guide who will take you to the spot where you can find the flora and Fauna.
The best time to visit this park is between Dec to March mid.
The ticket cost is 100 rs for Indian Citizens and Around 400 for Foreigners
Banke Bihari temple
Another Main Attraction of Bharatpur is the Banke Bihari Mandir which is inside the Lohagarh Fort, devoted to Lord Krishna.

This temple has a very unique architecture.
Inside the Sanctum there are two Idols one of Lord Krishna and another one is Radha, who was the true lover of Lord Krishna.

Their love was so pure that while chanting the name of Krishna, the name of Radhe comes first, Radhe Krishan.
Kishori Mahal
Another attraction of Bharatpur is the Kishori Mahal, which was the residence of the Queen of Maharaja Surajmal, which is now a Secretariate.
Opposite to it, there is a memorial of Maharaja Surajmal on his horse,

which is very beautiful, and around it, the story of how this Fort is made, the role of Maharaja Suraj mal, Sawai Jawahar Singh, their lineage, and the unsuccessful attempts stories of Mughals, Afghans, and Britishers are written in the Rock Plates.
This Place tells the true story of The Valour of Indian kings.
Bharatpur is undoubtedly the must-visit place to know about Indian History, culture, and Architecture.
