MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE IN COLLEGE

Good morning, my dear co-hivers. Let me take a moment to share my journey as a college instructor at CTU-San Remigio Extension Campus. I've been handling hospitality management students; I started my job in August 2024. I really don't know what to expect; I just did my part as a teacher, like knowing them at first, preparing lessons, and some activities.

It's a wonderful experience being surrounded with students with different behaviors and, of course, from different families; there are broken ones; there are those who are complete but sometimes can't be around with their siblings; there are those who actually stayed with their eldest brothers and sisters that actually supported their studies.

One thing that is very challenging in college is trying to study hard for the lessons too because we got to have 3 or 4 subjects and some are majors, and it really requires patience while you still keep learning.

It came to my mind that the journey you have as a teacher is really worth remembering every day, as we don't know when we stop with our career, teaching them to be better for their future endeavors, and before they will be facing the real world, which is when they graduate and look for a job.

These pictures were during mocktail mixing, wherein I let teachers judge or taste their self-made mocktails and rate them accordingly. It's my night class, yes, a night class because I belong to night session teachers. It wasn't easy, but then we have to keep grinding and emphasizing the knowledge we have for the future of the students. We are not regular teachers, but we make sure we give the education and learning that students need.
