Open Your Mind - Communication

I think a big issue with humanity is communication.
These are some of the basic problems with communication I have learned so far and I feel I'm barely scratching the surface.

-People only hear words, they don't stop and think of the message behind the words.
-People only hear superficially, they don't stop and think of the emotions behind the words in a deeper level.
-People are mostly self-interested they don't stop and empathize.
-People don't understand their own emotions so how could they understand the emotions of other people.
-People mostly act and speak on impulse which is tied to emotions they haven’t stopped to evaluate. Instead they should reflect, than later act and speak from logic and reasoning.
-People are quick to belittle other people’s problems and misunderstandings. Whether the problem be small or big, they are still having problems evaluating their thoughts and emotions on the matter.

I’m a big believer in: "The first step to solving a problem is recognizing there is a problem." I hope this helps some people communicate better with people we don’t understand specially our loved ones.
