Singapore GP 2019 Analysis

Marina Bay Street Circuit around Marina Bay, Singapore is one of the toughest race in the calendar due to hot and humid climatic conditions. Many drivers will fly early after Italian grandprix to cope up with the climatic challenges. On Main race, after completing 61 laps , driver's will lose up to 4 kilograms of their body weight.
The track is 5.063 km with 23 corners and had its first grandprix in the year 2008. Ever since, the circuit holds a unique record of having at least one safety car appearance which is also an important factor considered in race strategies. Cornering speed and placing the car in the right line is very important and a small mistake could brush the tyres on to the wall. A third DRS has been introduced for this year on the exit of Turn 13 in order to improve the racing at Sector 2.

Aside to racing, Singapore Night race is famous for its off track events. Singapore GP provides the best experience in the Formula 1 calendar with the on track and off track entertainments.

This content is written after watching Qualifying session on Saturday.
Marina Bay circuit characteristics demands more in terms aerodynamic set up than power. Also securing pole position is very important to win the race at Singapore. For the season so far, Ferrari(s) were the second/third best team in such circuits. Based on Practice 3 analysis, Ferrari has improved overnight in terms of one lap pace, but the race pace for the laps completed is not in top 3. It was interesting to note that McLaren(s) were having good race pace.

Main Race Heatmap
It was an exciting race and 3 wins for Ferrari after summer break. In my opinion, Ferrari had played a great strategy to maximize the constructor points.
