Carrizo Plain, California
I visited Carrizo Plain National Monument, a remote valley in California, this past weekend to see the current wildflower show. Unlike last month when I was there, there are now flowers covering the valley floor. The valley is also filled with a series of salt flats, the largest of which is Soda Lake - the flats have some water this time of year.
In the background of the image is the colorful Temblor range and the San Andreas fault, which runs through the valley.
Photograph taken with a quadcopter.
