What is in a Psyber-X Crate? Let's Find Out!!!

Psyber-X is coming! In fact, it already is in alpha launch, with game clips and headshots being posted to the Discord site regularly by the founder and big early backers. By all accounts, this will be a no-holds-barred Triple-A First Person Shooter game that aims to be fun to play while also bridging Hive to other blockchains, like Avalanche. It should be a super exciting moment for all of us Hiveans because if it catches on, it would bring a whole new crowd of folks to the Hive ecosystem!

Beyond running around killing your friends with lasers, drones, and grenades, Psyber-X plans to roll out minigames and Decentraland-syle land ownership where you can decide what kind of a site to develop and services to offer. Again, if this game catches on, owning land might be the biggest no-brainer to roll through Hive!

Hmm, that is two consecutive paragraphs ending in an "!" - Am I getting too excited? I had better calm down. This should help

One of the greatest potential selling features for blockchain games is the fact that you own your gear in NFTs. As someone who has lost months and years of progress in non-blockchain games when switching devices, this is appealing. And as I have watched my son play a trillion hours of Call of Duty to earn ridiculous weapons that exist only on his XBox, the appeal of actually owning that hard-earned gear should be huge.

It all starts with the gear then. And that brings us to crates.

The price seems in line with lots of other Hive games, but what do you get for your money?

When you want to open your Crate, you see the familiar facedown cards - 5 in this case

I clicked through them and got a pretty nice draw - nothing life-changing, but I did get an epic. I circled the information that indicates card rarity on the image below. This particular card is a stationary trap that slows players and causes them increased damage if they walk into the field it emits.

I have a few more crates to open, but I did want folks to know what to expect. There are plenty of crates left, and from what I have noticed, the gear NFTs themselves seem to be on offer at the Psyber-X market for more than the value of the Crate.
