Protect Our Future Foundation, Ghana, Our introduction to Hive😍

Protect Our Future Foundation (POFF), formerly Protect My Future Ghana (PMFG) was established in 2017, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization in the Northern Sector of Ghana, Tamale. We work diligently to create access to and distribute vital materials such as menstrual products like sanitary pads, tampons, and menstrual cups to school girls and women in deprived communities in the five (5) Northern Regions (Upper West Region, Upper East Region, Northern Region, North-East Region, Savannah Region). The taxes on these items are high and makes it uneasy to afford. We want to be a means of help to those we can help to ease it on their part.

We also committed to providing academic stationery such as exercise books, pens, mathematical sets, school bags, school uniforms, and GES-approved textbooks, among other educational/menstrual hygiene-related items to school girls in deprived communities within our Region of operations. Our organization offers financial support and empowerment to students who do not have access to basic education in rural communities. We encourage them to seek basic education to be able to pursue their dreams. We also offer career guidance sessions, and emotional psychological counseling as well as mentorship programs.

We also offer relief programs for widows through the provision of financial support and emotional psychological counseling. We recognize the plight of widows who go through varying inhuman treatment due to various outmoded traditional practices and we offer education to do away with these practices that prevent women from engaging and contributing to the economic activities of their communities.

Our work is to make humanity a better place. we are not stationed in one place. We take long deep into the world and identify a problem and then find our ways to help ease their part. From our works, you can see we are a combination of @hivestudentshub and @gemghana and other aspects. In all, we all want to make the world a better place.

When we heard of hive from @abdul01, we saw the need to put ourselves on the map to let the world know what we stand for and also let them know what's happening in Africa, Ghana, and Northern Ghana to be specific. Together we can make that change. I believe hive will do its part as it’s known for its greatest gestures.
