I have a never ending job, taking care of all my Garden Rooms…
I have trees that shed their leaves starting in Spring…
I’ve been using the leaves to create my own Mulch…
My Texas Sage has been multiplying…
They all need to be trimmed and trained…
They remind me of Cypress Trees that bloom…
Many of mine are already more than 6 feet tall…
Most gardeners train Texas Sage into 3 or 4 foot Square or Round shapes…
I’ve been trying to trim them down to less than 2 feet wide, when I do my pruning…
This means I’m trimming about 2 feet of new growth all the way around, each year…
The Purple Flowers fall and create some amazing top soil…
I dry the trimmings out in the Sun, before stomping all the tiny dry leaves…
The dry leaves are dumped and mixed in with my existing mulch…
I could use the dry twigs for kindling wood if it ever became necessary, and even sell it or give it away to others…
I’m currently tossing them in the garbage, but it’s nice knowing I have a steady supply if hard times come up, and I need fuel for cooking…
If nothing else, my Garden Rooms never give me a chance to get bored…lol…
