I always give a thought on which one currently is dominating crypto and which one people prefers?
Bitcoin? or Altcoin?

Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency to ever exist and the first thing built on blockchain. So many refer Bitcoin as the father of cryptocurrency. It was created by an anynomous identity known as nakamoto satoshi in 2008 having a 21 million Total supply.

• Bitcoin present price is at $39,100 with a market of $743,000,000,000.
  And this is 40.6% of the current cryptocurrency market capacity.
  Unfortunately Bitcoin mostly determines the price of all altcoin as of now but don't know if it will for a long time

Altcoin meaning alternative to Bitcoin Many altcoin like Ethereum known as Bitcoin competitor and the leaders of all altcoin.

Ethereum was not the first altcoin as litecoin, dogecoin all came before ethereum but ethereum overthrone them due to its usecase and uniqueness and it's addition to blockchain technology.
Ethereum has a market dominance of 17% in the total crypto dominance.

Good question of discussion
Altcoin has create a evolution to crypto but has also create a disaster to crypto world also by giving room to hack and scam(binance smart chain) rug pull etc....
